Low FODMAP Chocolate Chip Cookies (Gluten Free)

Bring these gluten free, low FODMAP, chocolate chip cookies to your next potluck. They are a great alternative to the favorite classic!

  • 1 1/8 cup light buckwheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup/6 ounces chocolate chips


  • Preheat oven to 375 °F and grease a large baking sheet with butter or line with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, using a spoon or electric mixer blend the egg and then add butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  • In a medium bowl, mix buckwheat flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until completely mixed.
  • Lightly mix in the chocolate chips.
  • Roll dough into small balls about golf ball size and align on baking sheet.
  • Cook for 9-11 minutes, until the edges are golden brown.


Other great mix-in options: Try adding in some chopped nuts like walnuts or almonds. Another great mix in would be some desiccated coconut or some dried fruit like raisins!
