About Andrea Hardy

Hi! I'm Andrea - Canada's Gut Health Dietitian and owner of Ignite Nutrition. As a business owner of one of the top dietetic digestive health clinics in North America, I spend my time supporting my team, educating health care providers around the world, and sharing important evidence based information on digestive health.

I trained at the University of Alberta. I have a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Nutrition and Food Science with a specialization in dietetics. and have been practicing since 2011 and am registered with the College of Dietitians of Alberta. I'm recognized as one of Canada's top gut health dietitians, and have spoken internationally about all things digestive health related. Prior to starting a private practice I did the majority of my work in oncology and liver disease, publishing 2 research studies here and here with my team!

I specialize in IBS, because I HAVE IBS!  I get what it's like to have my quality of life impacted by a poorly understood disease. I want to help others in the most evidence-based, practical way possible. I have completed FODMAP training through Monash University in Australia, and with my expertise have been responsible for the development of curriculum for other accredited dietitian education programs on digestive health too.

With this knowledge and skill, I created an approach to counselling that is more comprehensive than 'just diet' called the 4 Pillar Approach™️. I've trained all my staff on our unique 4 Pillar Approach™️ to digestive health management - which is our evidence-based approach to managing digestive issues.

About The Team I've Built

All of our staff are highly skilled and extensively trained in complex digestive disorders - though you might see more of me in the media - my team is equally as skilled in a variety of areas. When you see a member of my team, you will be seeing a dietitian that has received extensive additional training and support in the field of digestive health. I am proud of the care my team offers and believe it is next-to-none. Book with one of my amazing team today!
