WHO IS IT FOR?
Nourished Life Counselling is for those who are frustrated with dieting and ready to discover what a peaceful relationship with food feels like. Right now, you may feel out of control around food and experience emotional or stress eating. Maybe you have done every diet out there and feel at a loss of what to do next as each dieting attempt has ended with defeat.
WHAT IS IT?
Nourished Life Counselling uses the principles from a framework called Intuitive Eating. Intuitive Eating is a self-care journey of learning to reconnect with your innate hunger and satiety cues, while learning to identify where diet culture has led you astray when it comes to nutrition. Intuitive Eating is an evidence-based way of honouring all aspects of our health. We work in a weight neutral approach, including some principles of Health At Every Size ® (HAES) to untangle deeply held beliefs around weight, health, and nutrition to discover what a nourished life means to you.
HOW IS IT DIFFERENT?
Nourished Life Counselling and Intuitive Eating is not a weight-loss diet, although your desires for weight loss are something that we will unpack, explore where they came from, and cultivate compassion for. Nourished Life counselling infuses principles of mindfulness, body acceptance, interoceptive awareness, and self-compassion.
In your first session, we will spend 90 minutes together getting to know you, your history with food, current behaviours that are of concerns to you, and create a roadmap for healing your relationship with food and your body.

Biweekly video calls and unlimited email support will help you work through your fears, stumbling blocks, and cultivate the tools and resources you need to free yourself from dieting forever and rediscover the pleasure of eating.
During the first session, we will spend 90 minutes getting to know you, your lifestyle, medical history, and assess behaviours and your relationship to food. We will explore where this all started for you and understand your diet and weight history. From there, we will create a roadmap for your healing journey and start with the essential tools and resources that will support you.
While it is imperative that weight loss is not an expected outcome of this journey, we will discuss topics relating to weight, food, and bodies and how deep-held beliefs might be keeping you stuck.
Follow-up sessions are a time to bring your challenges, insights, small wins, and questions. We will explore the principles of Intuitive Eating as they become relevant to your journey. You can expect to walk away from sessions with action items to do, ponder, journal about, or eat! There will be leaps of faith, likely tears, and guaranteed ah-ha moments. We want sessions to feel empowering and useful for you with where you are at on your journey to making peace with food.

Our intensive program is meant to offer deep, transformative work in the relationship with food and your body. Counselling sessions are bi-weekly, and occur over 3 or 6 months.
